Tom FitkinThomas “Tom” Fitkin has owned and operated Oswego Mortgage since 1996. Born and raised in Eugene, Oregon, Tom graduated from Churchill High School (Go Lancers!). Following high school, he first attended Whittier College in Whittier, California to play baseball. After freshman year he transferred to the University of Colorado, where he received a double Bachelors degree in Finance and Real Estate.

After graduating Tom worked for Ticor Title for one year and then at First American Title for four. At that time he was given the opportunity to get into this crazy mortgage business and has never looked back.

What Tom loves most about the mortgage business is being privileged to meet and interact every day with new people who become friends and clients for life. “Over the last twenty-plus years I have chosen to specialize working with Veterans. While working with these extraordinary people who have defended our country and freedom, I have gained an unsurmountable amount of passion and enthusiasm towards helping Veterans.”

Outside of work, Tom believes that family is always number one, no matter what. “As a family we enjoy vacationing as often as we can as our hectic schedules will permit. My wife’s name is Shandell and we have two daughters, Alannah and Courtney, and one son, Jared. We are a family of animal-lovers…thus we have one horse named Rowdie, two dogs (Cliff and Lola), and one cat, who thinks he’s a dog named George.”

His personal hobbies include exercising, golfing, fishing, comedy and suspenseful movies, scuba diving, skiing, and hanging out at Allevannas Beach in Costa Rica.

Tom’s philosophy is to remember that “if you treat people the way you want to be treated”, life will always be abundant.
